Thank you all for Donating in support of Dr. Rob's 100-Mile Run for Children of Abuse and NKYCAC!

You can sponsor him at

Watch Robert J. Tagher, M.D. of Pediatrics of Florence as he goes live on Facebook on May 20th while running 100 MILES in The Florida Keys to benefit the children of abuse and neglect in Northern Kentucky through the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center.  He will be racing in the Keys 100 Ultramarathon - a 100-mile long race from Key Largo to Key West.  The race will be exciting and competitive and you will be able to watch live posts on Facebook from Dr. Rob and his crew throughout this incredible run.

Dr. Rob successfully completed a 100-mile run and raised over $18,000 for abused children and their families in Northern Kentucky in 2013!  Despite flooding on the trail and freezing temperatures, he finished the race in just under 24 hours, and, of 180 runners, he was one of 57 who finished and placed 10th overall.  That run represented the longest distance Dr. Rob had ever run up to that point.

The physical demands of running a 100-mile race are substantial. And now Dr. Tagher is running to increase his endurance and strength. The saying goes that you run the first half of a hundred with your legs and the last half with your mind. This year as Dr. Tagher is running we want him to know and remember that there is a whole team of supporters back in his community cheering him on and supporting the children that Dr. Tagher has committed his life to protecting and keeping healthy.

Dr. Rob deeply appreciates your sponsorship which will help the children and also provide him inspiration to keep running on race day.  He states:  "I absolutely love to run.  Being able to do it with others and for others means a lot to me.  I think this adventure at the Keys 100 will mean even more if the money we raise can be used to better serve the children who need the Advocacy Center.  I hope you can give.  When the going gets tough on race day - and it will - knowing that people made sacrifices is what keeps me going.  Thanks."

We are so excited and grateful for Dr. Rob's commitment and dedication to the children and families of Northern Kentucky and for his support of NKYCAC. Last year, Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center served over 800 children in Northern Kentucky. NKYCAC’s mission is to keep children safe from abuse and when abuse occurs, to work with our community to bring healing to these children and their families.  It is because of support such as yours that we can continue to help them put the pieces back together with the hope of healing and brighter childhoods.

Dr. Rob has already paid for all race fees and travel expenses so 100% of funds raised will go straight to NKYCAC and assist us in purchasing new medical equipment and hiring and training new medical personnel.

Please SPONSOR Dr. Rob today and cheer him on on May 20th!  Your support will go a long way in keeping him going with the going gets tough!

2016 Planting Pinwheels

Planting Pinwheels on April 11, 2017 at 1:00 PM at NKYCAC, 4890 Houston Road

Rain Date: If Rain the Lunch will still be 4-11-2017; Planting the Pinwheels will be 4-13-2017

FLORENCE, Ky.  –  NKYCAC and Chuy’s Mexican Food will be “Planting Pinwheels” to honor the children in Northern Kentucky. The pinwheel symbol is used to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect prevention. It was chosen to represent hope and promise, believing every child deserves to be raised in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment. It is our hope this image can positively help impact the way the public views both children, as well as the prevention of child abuse and neglect.

Chuy’s Mexican Food on Houston Road, will serve a special “thank you” luncheon to local law enforcement officials, social workers, prosecutors and victim advocates, volunteers and community partners thanking them for the hard work and dedication they provide to the children in the Northern Kentucky community. The luncheon will be held at the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center.

Vickie Henderson, Executive Director of the NKYCAC said, “Without these heroes, we could not protect the children who are being harmed and harmed. Every day I see these professionals working endless hours to ensure that our children are protected and have a bright future ahead of them.”

“It is critical that every adult in Northern Kentucky knows that child abuse occurs every day in every community and that it is our responsibility to ensure every child is safe and to report to the law enforcement and social services when you believe a child is being harmed”, said Randy Rawe Chairperson of the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center.
